Cheesden Valley and Old Mill

I have visited this location quite a few times over the years and it’s a good place where Charlie can run around without bumping into sheep or cows etc. So I parked opposite the Owd Betts Pub and off we set to walk down into the valley.

We decided to walk around Ashworth Reservoir, mainly to make it a longer walk. It’s not too far from the Old Mill in the valley and we decided to head towards the mill and see what we could see.

I’ve shot images of the old mill before, so decided to try to get some alternative angles and compositions. I think I’ve achieved that in the shot through the window down into the valley floor following the brook. The other shots are variations on a theme.

I had with me my Fuji XT-5 with the Sigma f2.8 zoom lenses. Whilst I usually use this with a tripod, I decided against lugging the tripod. These images are hand held, using the Classic Negative film simulation as a base with further tweaks in Lightroom.
