I really do try to take my camera on most walks that I do, I’m not quite taking it everywhere but maybe I should.
Friday
I was looking after Charlie on Friday afternoon and decided to take him for a walk (maybe he decided and I agreed). We headed down towards the site of the old mill to see if there was any other shots that I could spot. This image shows Dearden Brook as it meanders under the M66. I’ve decided that this area will be the focus of the OneLandscape Project which is local.

Saturday
I have to say I was a little hung over on Saturday morning so decided a long walk in the fresh air was required. Again my side kick was Charlie, and off we went through Edenfield and on up towards Dearden Wood Holiday camp site. I’ve taken lots of images on this walk before and decided that I’d look for other images for the local project for OneLandscape. I love this old gate.

Sunday
I was feeling the need to visit the seaside and Tracey and I agreed that we would take Charlie out on Sunday. Why I decided to go to Southport I’m not 100% sure. The sea is miles away from the promenade and there are large chunks of marshlands, and not much sand. Anyway, the Fuji XPro3 came with me and I took some interesting images nonetheless. I’ve seen lots of photographs of a pier from underneath and always thought I’d try someday. This image was just a rushed image as another family where getr with two dogs.

Tuesday
I know this should be Monday to keep the run going but I couldn’t find anything locally that inspired me to take any images. So I was determined to get out on my own on Tuesday. Some research led me to Lamaload Reservoir not far from Macclesfield. I had planned a walk around the whole reservoir but it was so cold so I decided to concentrate on this old barn, not far from the car park.

So it’s been a very productive weekend and I’m feeling very inspired for what is to come in 2026. Less concerned with honeypot locations and what is expected of a landscape photographer. More focused on what I want to shoot and continue to craft what I think is my style.
