The Frozen Tundra – Not Quite

All the weather apps were giving weather warnings for snow and ice on a grand scale! I was disappointed when I woke up this morning to see that whilst there was a dusting of snow, there wasn’t a great deal.

Anyway, despite my feelings this morning, it was cold and I decided to wrap up warm and head out locally to the local country park.

These images I shot this morning in Abney Hall Country Park with my Leica Q3, partly for me to test out the new firmware update (V4.00) and partly to get first use of the new leather strap that Santa brought me for Christmas.

I’m always amazed when I come to edit images from this location as this country park is sandwiched in the middle of the M60 and M56 motorways as well as other major A roads. When you walk around you can hear the roads and also see them at certain places.

This months OneLandscape challenge is “Shallow Depth of Field” and I wanted to have a first go at trying to work out what I wanted to shoot in this challenge and a couple of the close up images of the wooden animals that are dotted around the country park are all shot at f1.7, a shallow depth of field. I’ll have to think through this a little more as this sort of image isn’t very creative.

All these images are shot handheld on my Leica Q3, and edited in Lightroom.

I hope you like these images.
