River Mersey Project
I’m part of a Photography Coaching Group run by Chris Sale and one of the coaching techniques used by Chris is to undertake a project each year. The 2024 project is focused on The River Mersey, between Parrswood and the Pyramid Roundabout. My intention was to try to capture the essence of the river in this small section, but also to show the multiplicity of different things that the river provides for the local population.
A major part of the project is the ultimate presentation of the work at the end. For this particular project I have chosen to create a book, which I have had printed along with a PDF version of the book that is available for download below. Click the link to get hold of a copy.
I’ve tried to capture a wide range of subjects in the images within this project, starting with the Graffiti under the motorway bridges, along with images of all the bridges along this particular section of the river.
There are images of some amenities, the coffee van, the rugby club as well as some of the interesting objects that can be found aimed at kids I guess. The PDF tells what I hope is a compelling narrative of what it’s like to walk along this section of the river, and what walkers, cyclists, dog walkers et al can expect to see as they explore this area.
I have deliberately not included any narrative text in the document as I wanted the images to tell the story as the reader moves through the PDF. I hope you enjoy.
