I’ve been to Chatsworth House on numerous occasions over the past few years, including the COVID years. Each time I ventured there the house itself was closed. This was for various reasons, renovations, COVID etc etc etc. The opportunity presented itself on Wednesday 1st October 2025 to actually visit and the house would be open. The decision was made I would visit and this time get some images inside the house. It’s not the cheapest place to visit an adult ticket was £32 including car parking.
I arrived at the allotted time and parked in the main car park, but was horrified to see a huge queue outside the entrance. The very helpful lady on the entrance to the car park said I could walk past the queue has I had booked a specific time…..phew. I was able to wander inside with little fuss, other than to scan my ticket. Once inside I found I wasn’t alone, there were lots of visitors, and this was a recurring theme throughout the visit. Undeterred I set off around the house.
I had decided the night before that I would take my Leica Q3 with me as this would challenge my composition given the fixed 28mm lens. The image quality is marvellous, even at higher ISO, but you will see this for youself as you view the images.

It really is a fabulous place to visit, and if you take your time and be patient you can take images that don’t have lots of folk stood in the way. A little help from Lightroom can always sort out anyone who does stray into an image. I hope you like this set of images.
