Holidays, Teresa Hotel, San Stefanos, Corfu

I do like to have other things to work on during my photography journey and I don’t want to limit myself to the same things all the time. I do like to walk, and this means that I can end up in places that offer me some interesting things to photograph, and this can range from street photography to amateur football, and many more besides. The images included in this section are a mix of images from the various projects that I have on the go.

Odd Angles

I’m not quite sure why but I do tend to see things at different angles, I mean of course I see them as they are presented but I do like to explore to see if there are any interesting images to be had by looking at the various things from all angles, not just the obvious one. The image of the bench was taken in Bramhall Hall Park as I photographed that wonderful place, and I paused to change the battery in my camera, and my backpack rested on the bench. Once the battery was replaced and backpack was restored onto my back, I noticed the symmetrical circles and the “For Valour” messaging. I thought this would make a quirky image and I hope you agree.

The Road Well Driven

I have signed myself up to an online Photography course and one of the challenges set on the course was to do a night shoot. For those who know where the M60 Junction 1 is you will know that there is a bridge just before the Cheadle turn off and that bridge is on Manchester Road, linking Cheadle to Parrswood, a road I drive up and down almost every day. As I drove home from work thinking about the photography challenge the usual traffic jam formed and I found myself looking at almost the same spot that you can see in the image. I had a brain wave and after my evening meal, I packed my camera and tripod and retraced my steps to a slightly less busy Manchester Road. A few practise images gave me the correct shutter speed and the image you see was taken. The light trails I think look really good and I will use this technique again on other shoots.

Just Call Me Alan Whicker

For people of a certain age you will remember who Alan Whicker is and the adventures that he had, and for those who haven’t got a clue what I’m on about he was a Travel presenter in the 70’s and 80’s. Now I’m not saying that I go to all the exotic locations that Alan went to but I do like a good trip.  I am lucky enough to have a few trips and you will see the fruits of these trips in the future in this section of the website. The picture was taken on a stormy day from my balcony in one of my favourite places and that is San Stefanos, on the Greek Island of Corfu. The hotel is Terezas Hotel and Apartments and I’ve visited on numerous occasions, and I have to say it feels like home. I have a huge number of pictures that I’ve taken over the years here but there are far to many to include here. I will update the images in this section as undertake more trips.
