Manchester Cathedral – My First Ever Visit

I love visiting and photographing historical buildings, castles, houses and cathedrals and churches. I’ve lived all my life in and around Greater Manchester but I’ve never visited Manchester Cathedral.

The weather wasn’t looking promising so I thought I’d stay relatively local and try to stay under cover as much as possible. I had no idea that the Cathedral is multi use and is staging a performance of a light show and music called Luminescence.

All around the main part of the cathedral are the staging stuff for this show. That, however, didn’t get in the way of me taking some pictures of this lovely place.

I also decided that I’d try to capture a few more shallow depth of field images for this months challenge. So the first three images are just that.

The rest are shots I captured as I walked around and explored. All images are captured handheld with my Leica Q3.
