If you look through my website you we see a section on Street Photography and a sub section is Stockport. Amongst other images from around the town I have taken images of a number of the “murals” that have sprung up around the town. They are very impressive and heads off to the street artists who have carried out these wonderful pieces of art.
So last Tuesday I was driving through a part of Stockport that I havent been through for a while and I spotted 2 new (as far as I know they are new) murals. On Friday morning I took my camera up to the very spot where I had seen these images with the intention of adding the two that I found onto my website. The I mages below are the two that I took on Friday morning.

For those who live in and around Manchester I’m sure you will know who this is a mural is of, for those who don’t this is Phil Foden who is a Manchester City footballer and was born in this parish! The good thing about street art is that it uses wall space, the downsize is that it also takes into account some of the signs and pipes etc that are naturally in situ. With a little help from Lightroom AI remove feature those distractions have largely been removed. He most definitely is one of our own!!

I’ve lived in and around Stockport for around 28 years, and during that time I have watched Stockport County play maybe 10 times, mostly against City but they did have a purple patch where they reached playoff finals, semi finals of the League Cup and had a good go at some top flight teams. There are two main managers that oversaw that golden era, David Jones and Danny Bergara. The image above is of Danny Bergara, he is held in very high regard by the Stockport faithful, culminating in a road being named after him along with a mural. I battled the heavy traffic that flows past this scene but I do like it and its right and proper to have such artwork around the town.
