Headingley 23rd June 2022 – England versus New Zealand

I have always had a soft spot for cricket going right back to my days as a young lad. me and my friends would play for hours, sometimes with just a bat and a tennis ball. As I got older watching cricket had other attractions, the bar stayed open when the pubs where closed. This meant local Sunday cricket was regularly frequented by me and the lads. I’ve watched test match cricket an awful lot on television, and have been to the odd match over the years. When the opportunity to buy tickets for the first day of the third test match presented itself, I grabbed them with both hands. This post is a simple photo essay of my day at Headingley. All images where taken with my Sony RX100 m3.

Space station? No its the pavilion!!
Stuart Broad steams in during the opening exchanges.
Lunchtime entertainment – well I listened on the headset at least!!
The famous Western Terrace Beer snake, and some English fielders!!
The weather closed in a little later in the days play.
An enjoyable days cricket nears its end.
