Corfu September 2024

The trip to Corfu this September came hard on the heels of Ben and daisy’s wedding, and we decided that this holiday was all about chilling out, but at the same time having a wander around and seeing a few things. For those who are interested we stayed at Tereza’s Sunset Hotel, which we have stayed at previously, its a lovely place.

This year I decided that I wanted to try and travel with a stripped down photography kits, and took my Fuji X100V, with a few spare batteries and SD cards. This would allow me to take the camera out more regularly and as you can see from the catalogue of images below the camera was in places a bigger setup wouldn’t quite get to.

I must have thousands of images of San Stefanos that I’ve taken over the years, so decided to try to take images that are a little less obvious, and of things that I wouldn’t normally expect to. I took 350 images across the 2 weeks, and the Fuji (like most cameras) allows for JPEGS and RAW formats of each image. These 50 or so images are my selection from the batch.

Whilst I was on holiday I used the Fujifilm XApp to download JPEGS onto my iPad, all of which you will have already seen on my social media channels. The images in this gallery are all RAW files edited using the Classic Negative film simulation, with a few tweaks here and there. I’ve continued with my more subdued colour approach with these images, which is slightly more difficult given the harsh nature of the light in a very sunny location.

I have decided to create a photobook from these images and will spend a little more time curating these images into a coherent story but I wanted to get these images onto a blog posting so there is a record of the trip, relatively soon after we returned.
