This past 4 days we have been in the lovely Yorkshire Dales National Park, it is on the southern edge of the national park. Set in some wonderful surroundings, there is lots to see and do but we decided to have a walk around the local area, taking in sections of the Bolton Abbey walk.

The glamping pod we stayed in was really lovely and the above image is the entrance taken from the field in front. You can see the hot tub and fire pit and these got plenty os use.

You will have noticed this post on the left of the first image. It speaks for itself really, and the shallow depth of field focuses attention.

Catgill Farm, where we stayed, is very close to Bolton Abbey, as you walk down there are some lovely views.

I have no idea what the bit of machinary is used for but I assume it’s something to do with drainage for the field.

You can tell we are nearing the Abbey site, as these boulders are placed so cars don’t park on the verges.

These two caught my eye as we walked through the village, the small items on top of the letterbox are wool, knitted by wkoknows!

literally as I turned around from taking the image of the postbox, I saw this fabulous tree.

You don’t get the sense that this view is awaiting as you approach the entrance through the wall, but it is a lovely vista. You can see both the Abbey and the River in this image, and we followed the path to the river and the stepping stones, but more of that in a separate ‘ post.

This is the bridge over the river at the Pavillion cafe, lovely coffee and cake. Charlie agreed with me that this bench, does indeed have a good view. Another bench with a view.

Following the river having crossed the bridge, you can’t help but come across this great little crossways of the paths with the abbey nestling in the trees in the distance.

Once over the fence, choosing the path to the right, you can cross the field towards the monument you can see in the distance.

Once you get to the monument you are at this lovely view point of the Abbey, and this takes you directly back to the road up to Catgill.
All these images are taken with my Leica Q3, handheld and edited on lightroom.

Beautiful, presumably the pod was top notch ?
Gorgeous scenery and the weather helps.
Glad you both enjoyed it and Charlie 👍
