It’s been incredibly busy this past weeks, and coupled with my motivation not being what it should be, I havent done any location scouting. So on Monday I decided that a repeat visit to Calf Hey Reservoir was what I would do. It was quite hot so I couldn’t linger has Charlie would have fried if we stayed out in the heat at its highest.
The se images are not meant to be portfolio shots but are images that I hope will help me slowly get my eye back in. I’m starting to think through where my next new location might be, and all things being equal that will be this coming weekend. So here are a few images that are of the familiar location for regular readers and viewers.

There are a number of reservoirs in this area and I wanted to try to capture a wide vista that included one of the others. I’ve been looking at this gates a few times before and never really managed to get anything near something that I like. The gate is foreground interest, if not the most interesting foreground but I think it does allow this image to work.

The walls here are really interesting but I’ve never really got to a take an image that I like, and I’m not too convinced about this one. I like the wind turbine in the background, but its too small to have any real impact.

This image is an alternative version of the previous image, this time I’m using the “beach” to assist the wall as a leading line. The sign post is foreground interest but is very dull.

This scene is at the point where you reach the Other end of the reservoir. I have again tried repeatedly to get a version of this scene that I like. The overgrown grasses on the bottom right detract from this in my view but overall its one of the better attempts I have had at capturing this location.
All these images are captured using my Fuji X100 V.
