An Icy Walk – Great Practise

You will know that I am a member of the OneLandscape photography coaching group. Each month we have a challenge which is designed to test and broaden our skills. I have posted blogs on quite a lot of the challenges over the past few years and today was another photo walk when I was looking to find some images for this months challenge.

This month is “Depth of Field” which is broadly about focusing on a subject and blurring the background.

I was unsure about location today and set of driving after dropping Tracey off who was going out with her friends. I ended up at Clough Head Reservoir which is above Haslingdon and as I drive I could see parts of the reservoir was frozen. Something interesting to shoot I thought, and so it proved. Here are a selection of images I took and I’ve included the three images that are shallow depth of field separately from the other images I took.

All these images were taken with my Fuji Xpro3 on the 23mm f2 lens. All are edited in Lightroom with the Classic Negative film simulation applied to the Raw files (as well as the JPGS not used).
