A Walk on Knowl Hill

My project idea blog from last week shows a number of wind turbines in the distance. This weekend I decided i’d go and explore one of the wind farms above Ramsbottom. The area i chose was Knowl Hill, the OS maps showed plenty of paths all around the turbines, plus parking is easy just opposite The Owd Betts pub. So Charlie and I set off for a walk on Knowl Hill.

The images below are test images all taken with my Sony A6600 with the 16 to 55mm f2.8 G lens. All the shots are hand held, well lugging a tripod and full camera kit with a Cocker Spaniel is not a good idea, but hand held is fine.

There is definately scoop for a project in and around this area. Lots of diversification of traditional farming along with this (and others) wind farms, part of the energy solution of the future.

Part of the Farm!
They dominate the skyline!
I’m a sucker for a style!
I love a dry stone wall!

There is most definitely scoop for a project in and around this area, keep in touch and see how this develops over the coming weeks and month.
