3 for the Price of 1

You will have noticed that there has been a few weeks gap between blog posts. There are a few reasons for that mainly (1) I’ve been away and (2) the website hosting company made some changes without tell me. The trip away was to play golf in Scotland and whilst I did take a camera with me, I was far to busy playing golf, eating, or drinking, to take any images.

Whilst I was away the web hosting company made some changes and for about a week or so the website “disappeared”. Panic yes! Thankfully this was a technical glitch and their part and they corrected the error once it was pointed out. A lesson for us all in there, but more about that in a future post.

Subsequently I’ve been out on 3 walks where I did take my camera and the images here are a result of those walks. Preston Brook Canal, WErneth Low Country Park and tattoos Park. All of these were with Charlie who I has been a guest at my house, whilst Tracey’s house has some work done.

Preston Brook

I used to work in Runcorn, a long time ago, and would drive through this area on my way to work. I had it in my mind that there is a marina for narrow boats. So decide to explore, I have a sort of attraction to narrow boats. This image is the only one of the 20 or so that I took on the walk that I like. There is a marina, but access to it wasn’t the easiest on foot, due to new housing being built. I did think this could be a candidate for the “green” challenge this month, but it didn’t make the Final Cut.

Werneth Low Country Park

I’ve been here before quite a few times, so was looking for alternative compositions. I like the wall and the sign post, all pointing along the path towards the cenotaph. More of that to come.

Thie bench can be seen from the path off to the right in the last image. The actual view is back across to the Manchester skyline, but I decided that the view towards the cenotaph is a little more interesting. This is the image that I have entered into the “green” challenge this month.

Off to the right of this image is Werneth Low Golf Course. I had walked a slightly different way given I took the bench image, and ended up skirting the golf course. You will say another wall Steve? Well walls are great leading lines and this one takes your eye through the image towards the cenotaph.

I have lots and lots of images of the cenotaph, but this angle isn’t one that I’ve taken before. I like the fencing and the opening inviting your eye through the image.

On the way back to the car I walked the path that I didn’t take on the walk into the cenotaph. I do have lots of versions of this but I catch’s my eye everytime.

Tatton Park

This weekend we took Charlie to Tatton Park, basically for a walk, and an opportunity to wander around Knutsford afterwards. This is the only image from the set I took that I like.

The Preston Brook and Tatton Park images were taken, handheld on my Leica Q3, and the Werneth Low Country park images were all taken, handheld on my Fuji X100V.
